Lake Molveno

Lake Molveno is no doubt one of the main attractions of this land, and was defined by Antonio Fogazzaro as a "precious pearl in the most precious casket".

This is perhaps the deepest alpine lake of natural origin, formed about 4,000 years ago following a huge landslide. Its deep blue denotes its biological integrity making it an ideal environment for fish. Vast beech forests and firs extend around the lake, reaching up to 2,000 meters, before giving way to the steep rocks of the Brenta Dolomites.

From 2011 to 2017, it obtained the highest environmental recognition for the quality of its waters from Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club: the “5 sails” are assigned not only for the quality of the water, but also for the quality of the beach, services and safety.

Also, from 2014 it’s been voted the “most beautiful lake in Italy”.
